Cover Image Cover: The October through December 2004 Highlighted Topic series examines the numerous aspects that contribute to and control the growth and development of the lung. Key concepts explored within this series include the formation of branching tubes, cell death, and vascular remodeling in and regeneration of lung tissue. Additionally, this series includes discussions of how the use of mutant mouse models has contributed to our knowledge of lung development and matching gene expression to lung function. We acknowledge Steve Graepel, illustrator of the cover design. This illustration is copyrighted by Steve Graepel and reproduced with permission.
